DOIs are really citation identifiers, so we advise that members register the journal-level metadata as well as your journal-article-level metadata as you believe those works will be cited.
We recommend registering the metadata in the language that matches the language of the content itself. For illustration, if the article (or, content) was written and published in Spanish, then the article would most likely be cited in Spanish, so we’d recommend that the metadata registered with us also be in Spanish.
As for journal name changes, significant name changes should result in a new ISSN from the ISSN Centre. Minor journal name changes are permitted by the ISSN Centre. If you do have a minor journal name change, contact us at support@crossref.org and we can update the journal name in our admin title records.
This will enable you to submit metadata deposits with the new title going forward.
Please note, this does not change the title in the metadata for any of your already-registered DOIs. If you wish to update the title in the metadata for existing DOIs, you will need to resubmit updated metadata deposits for those DOIs, with the new title included.
And, then the last question I have not addressed above:
for example, journal would like to change their name. But they have already with DOIs and prefix for based on their previous name. if they changed previous name to different name. is it effect for their DOIs and their citations number etc…
DOIs are designed to be persistent. A significant journal title change would mean that you effectively have another journal registered with us - it would have a distinct title and a distinct ISSN. That said, it would have no impact on the existing DOIs, their metadata, or their citations and citation counts.
