Landing page as a section of a page

Can a landing page be a page section or popup, for example where a DOI is registered for a chapter or a figure? Could a DOI potentially resolve to a URL such as https://test.example.org/a-larger-work#figure-1 or does the landing page have to be an individual file?

(To clarify, the full page – in the example, this would be https://test.example.org/a-larger-work – is also the landing page for its own, separate, DOI.)

Yes, a DOI can resolve to a page section or popup. Like you have done here, if you are doing this, it is best to use an anchor link to resolve to the most straightforward location for the DOI and its content.
