Really liked this presentation - XML is hard and creating schema conform content is a challenge! These challenges go even beyond it (those phantom DOIs sound horrible!).

Thank you - I am glad you liked my talk! Those phantoms were pesky – but, it turned out I could get them properly registered with CrossRef’s help. Most of them seemed like they were intended to be deposited – they were even included on the article’s PDF. The former publisher had links to all DOIs except for the phantoms, so I was able to get a “pass” to deposit them on our platform using the other publisher’s prefix.
