ROR ID for Report-Paper authored by Organization

I have a report-paper that has an organization (OSTP) as author. OSTP has a ROR ID. How can I include the ROR ID with the organization author?

I tried:

White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP)
<organization_id type=“ror”>Research Organization Registry (ROR) Search</organization_id>

but got the error:
[Error] :17:30: cvc-complex-type.2.4.a: Invalid content was found starting with element ‘organization_id’. One of ‘{“http://0-www-crossref-org.libus.csd.mu.edu/schema/5.3.1”:organization, “http://0-www-crossref-org.libus.csd.mu.edu/schema/5.3.1”:person_name, “http://0-www-crossref-org.libus.csd.mu.edu/schema/5.3.1”:anonymous}’ is expected.

Hi Bess,

That’s not currently possible. So far, at least, we only allow RORs as affiliations. And organizational contributors don’t have institutional affiliations, since they are themselves institutions.

It’s an interesting use case, and I’ll report it to our Head of Metadata as an example of how we might further incorporate RORs in future schema versions.
