Crossref is in the process of a project to review our sustainability and revenue model, which includes updating our fee schedule. Some may say, that’s long overdue. If that’s you – please let us know your views and we are looking forward to your feedback!
Crossref’s Membership & Fees Committee is tasked with reviewing all related research in order to form recommendations for fee changes to our Board by the end of June 2024. The committee itself has been enlarged to include diverse perspectives, and now we’re working to offer as rich resources and research to inform their analysis, as we can muster.
As a membership organisation that thousands worldwide rely on for infrastructure services, it’s paramount to arrive at a more equitable and sustainable model. In order to help us understand the broader context of our fees, we’ll adopt a range of tools to help us investigate and consult the views of all of our community. We can expect to be invited to respond to surveys, or to have a conversation about it over Zoom or email in the near future.
